In 2004, a dream was pursued. For years, some Awesome “A” Shrine Nobles continually talked of forming a Masonic Lodge that would be founded on Armenian cultural values. After great efforts to make this dream a reality, our request was granted by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Howard Kirkpatrick, allowing us to receive the Lodge’s dispensation. After a year as Ararat Lodge UD (under dispensation), on November 14, 2005, Most Worshipful Grand Master Fred Sorsoval granted the Lodge its charter and we became: Ararat Masonic Lodge No. 848.
Since then, our Lodge membership has grown to over one hundred members strong, comprised of Armenians and non-Armenians from different countries and backgrounds. Our membership engages in a broad spectrum of Masonic and social functions. We have also started in translating the degree work into the Armenian language.
We have a great line of dedicated officers who work endlessly to promote Masonry among the community, all in an effort to bring pride to our Craft.
We will continue our work with hopes to pass along Freemasonary from generation to generation.
